3x IRONMAN® 70.3 Winner

Danielle Lewis is predominantly a half distance triathlete who has won IRONMAN® 70.3® Oregon and IRONMAN® 70.3® Indian Wells in recent years. She has also started racing full-distance triathlons and finished on the podium at IM Arizona in 2022.

The American star has been steadily progressing in the pro ranks and started off the 2023 season ranked 35th in the PTO World Rankings.

Danielle discovered Precision Fuel & Hydration after learning some hard nutrition lessons in her first full IRONMAN® in Texas, where she suffered with gastrointestinal issues. After the PF&H Sports Science team helped her dial in her fueling strategy, she went on to place third at IM Arizona, breaking a 12-year run course record in the process.

Danielle is a pretty salty sweater, losing 1,310mg of sodium per litre of sweat. Therefore, she uses PH 1500 in most training and racing and supplements her recovery hydration with PH 500.

Danielle lives in Boise, Idaho, with her husband, Andrew and pets, George and Miles. She enjoys crocheting gifts for her family and friends.

The PF&H Sports Science team have removed guesswork from my nutrition planning and given me confidence in being able to perform without GI issues on race day.

Danielle's Top Tips

Knowledge is power so get a handle on how much sodium you lose per litre of sweat AND how much sweat you lose per hourMake sure you have a water bottle with a PH 1500 or PH 1000 tab waiting for you in T2 so you can top off your electrolytes before the run when you're racing in hot conditionsRecord what you consumed and how you felt after each race so you can evaluate your strategy and improve upon it next time
